Slumber Party

Okay ladies, as most of you know we have been told ALL players must sleep in the dorms for the first week of camp....6 days. I have talked it over with my husband and we think that it will be a good idea (as much as it stinks) to not put up a fight for our hubbies to go. I don't want any other players giving anyone a hard time about not doing it. I think we can all make a crappy situation possibly into a fun one! I would love for everyone, especially new couples, and even wives with babies to come and have a slumber party at my house!!! What do you ladies think? We have 5 beds, 1 air mattress, 2 big couches and a love sack! We would have the whole house to party! If you don't want to spend the night then come and stay super late. We can do games, watch movies, pizza, crafts, or whatever!!! Would everyone be up for it?

Back to shirt topic!

So we searched high and low for Pink Jersey's and we just cant find them. We are now thinking about just doing a matching wives shirt. For a lot cheaper but still super cute! Here are some pics. Let us know if you have any preferences or suggestions...

This is one example of the front...

Here is an example of the back on what it might look like...

We couldn't get a pic of a woman so this man will have to do! This would another ex of the front.
I painted on the stripes...but we could add them?
Do you like the white lettering better or black?

PS We can buy all of these shirts in bulk for around 24.00 each and then I will have my parents do the screen printing...I will get a quote ASAP!

Driving to McNeese instead?

Okay so if we decided to drive, would there be more wives wanting to go? We were thinking about renting a Van or mid-size vehicle (around 120.00 for three days.) Split gas which we are guessing around $330.00 there and back. (That would include 3 fill ups there and back). SO if we split between 5 people with gas and rental....it would be $90.00 each.

We would have to spend the night one of the nights so we are looking at least 100.00 a night. Split with 5....$20.00.

So guessing total in all around $110.00.

Does that sound about right?

Let me know what you think!!!

SVU vs. McNeese State

Hi Ladies! We are trying to get a head count on everyone who wants to go to Louisiana for the football game against McNeese on the 27th of September. We are going to buy airplane tickets this Friday while the prices are low. Here is the plan so far:

People Going for sure:
Nicole Taylor, Kim Gilbert, Shanda Munns, and I think Amanda huch.

We are going to fly on Friday evening and stay in New Orleans. Its about 4 hours away from McNeese. Why? Because its the cheapest flights and we can have a little fun of our own in New Orleans! We would come back Sunday morning.
Flight Costs: 235.00
Hotel Costs:
It is 291.54 total so if we divide by 5 it will be 58.31 each, by 4 it will be 72.88, by 3 it will be 97.18.
Car rental + GAS: 77.35 plus gas for entire trip prob 60.00

SO....in total it will be around $430.66- maybe cheaper if gas prices aren't bad!
A little more than I thought but If We buy our tickets this payday on Friday (235.00) and Pay Kim our halves for everything else by the 15th (195.66). I think it will work out just fine!!!

Let me (Nicole) Know ASAP!!

Football Jersey's or shirts??

What do you think if we did some kind of shirt with our names printed on it. Like Sara Hansen did before with MRS. Hansen on it. Which is super cute. I don't have a picture of it but maybe you do Sara? Or we could do a jersey. My parents do printing on T-shirts so i think i can get them cheaper. Here is a picture of something I did online.....but it doesn't have to look like this. We can probably find better ones...just an example. Would everyone want one?

FB: Ten Knights Earn Preseason Honors

ImageBUENA VISTA, Va. (May 22, 2008) – The 2008 Preseason NAIA All-Independent Football Team was announced on Wednesday and it included 10 athletes from Southern Virginia, including six who garnered first-team mention.

With 10 honorees the Knights had the second most among the 10 independent schools in the NAIA. Southern Oregon led the way with 12. Southern Virginia's six first-team selections tied Southern Oregon and Azusa Pacific for first.

Quarterback Luke Taylor (Litchfield Park, Ariz./Mesa CC) was one of four Knights named to the first-team on offense. The record setting quarterback passed for 3,292 yards and 31 touchdowns in 2007, both school records.

Two of the men who provided Taylor’s protection last season, linemen Ben Burningham (Richmond, Utah/Skyview HS) and Tyler Card (West Valley City, Utah/Cottonwood HS), were named to the first team. Receiver Marc Hadfield from Lehi, Utah, who caught 15 passes for 203 yards and two touchdowns, also earned first-team honors.

Safeties Shea Owens (Alpine, Utah/Lone Peak HS) and Devin Huch (Buena Vista, Va./Parry McCluer HS) were named to the first-team defensive unit. Owens had 115 tackles, including 11.5 for loss, while Huch led the Knights with three interceptions.

Earning second team honors were offensive lineman Conorie Richmond (Mesa, Ariz./Mesa CC), wide receiver Tye Hiatt (Vale, Ore./Vale HS) and defensive linemen Jawan Hendrix (Blackstone, Va./Nottoway HS) and Tim Meyer (Boise, Idaho/Capital HS).
